Price Drop at BH on the EA50, w/ rebate

Looking back to the beginning of this forum around Aug 2012, the camera was announced for around $4,500.

You can buy it brand new now for $2,725 USD from BH (after rebate $600)

That's amazing! At that price, I'm tempted just to buy one for fun. lol

I've been looking for something that can kind of give me DSLR like shallow depth of field shots to compliment my NX5U.

I wonder if this would do that.

Yes it will do the shallow DOF you are asking about. The EA50 is a true video camera that creates images like a DSLR. Love mine.

B&H raised there price because of this rebate. They were selling it for $2,999.00 imagine $600.00 off of that. This camera blows me away in the bang for the buck.

Best camera I have ever bought ...

Can't believe how cheap it has become. Grab it while you can at that price ...

I paid nearly £3000 for mine when it first came out.

It is marked down to $2725 at Adorama as well. Has been for a while. I did a blog post on the new price on October 20th. And you can order it today :)

Cheers,

Don't buy one of these cameras Kyle ! Buy two!! I have two EA-50's and after 23 years with Panasonic I moved to Sony's and these and the very first cameras I have owned that I can honestly say that I find it very hard to find even small fault with!! I'm pleased as punch with both mine and they work hard too.

With a simple adapter you also get to use all your still camera lenses which is a huge bonus!!

They introduced that rebate about 5 days after I bought mine for $3100! Little bit annoyed but ah well, that's life!

Hi Jody

I paid $4160 for my first one (GST of 10% + shipping included) in early January and then $4020 for the second one in early February !! They are currently $3960 at VideoPro in Brisbane but shipping now is excluded.

Does that make you feel at least a little better?

Ah, yes I'll stop complaining now ;)

Either way, it's a fantastic camera and well worth the money! Having a lot of fun using it, and the clients love the image quality.

Of course, I'd love to get 2 of them, but I'm pretty sure that's not happening. lol

My wife would probably be ok with me getting 1. The Sony rebate offer is good through the end of the year, so I've got some time to work on that there.

Hi Kyle

I do weddings so dual cameras are essential for stuff like the ceremony and speeches but after that I just use the one EA-50. For my realty work it's also a single camera.

Oh man, that would have been super sweet at that price... $2,399! Crazy!

Is there any way to buy this camera w/o the lens (which I have zero use for)?

Thx -

Think it's only sold without lens in Asia... Might be wrong on that though.
Might consider selling mine (without lens) in a couple of weeks. But I'm in Europe (Stockholm/Berlin).

The lens is worth a lot of money.

You can easily sell it.
