Could I use the newly introduced HVR-DR60 HDD with Z1 for real time recording?

Yes, Peter....you can.

I thought it stated it wont work with anything but the new line.

That is untrue, according to the presentation which Sony gave. In the video we watched they showed a picture of it being used with a PD-170. However you won't get some of the special features, like the status report screen on the camcorder unless you're using a V1.

Awesome! I will have to pick one up when it comes out! Whats the MSRP? nevermind its m2t. Ill just get the catapult.
