Andrew-
Did the blowfly-like noise clearly come from the LCD monitor of your Z1P? How long have you had this camera? Boyd is obviously correct that the FX1/Z1 are different designs from their predecessors. However, certain circuitry can be shared in come between the two generations of electronics--even when the jump from one generation to the next is big. Please keep us informed with the monitor noise issue (if it can be called that yet) with your Z1P, Andrew. |
Jeff, maybe I'm missing something but I think you're way off base here. The problem on the PD-170 was noise recorded by the audio system when the LCD panel was open. IIRC, it was caused by either improperly shielded or incorrectly routed wires inside the camera.
This issue being discussed here is audible mechanical noise coming from the motor such that you can hear it while standing in the same room. With the PD-170 you could only hear the noise while monitoring the audio with headphones, or playing it back later. Apples and oranges... |
Boy, Boyd, you are absolutely correct!
It is me that was missing something. Too many late nights, not enough sleep. I will continuing monitoring this post and possibly I'll learn! Thanks for putting my back on the light side. |
