quick stream
 

Hi Guys,

Is there any HDD capture out there yet ...as quick stream ............that can capture straight on to HDD rather than tapes that can handle HDV

I don't know of one yet. However, the FireStore people have announced that they intend to support HDV in the future. Perhaps their new FS-4 will be redesigned to support HDV? That sure would be nice. Now that I've seen a few FX1 dropouts, I think an external recorder would be mandatory for any serious shoots.

Focus Enhancements (the company that makes the Firestore)
has pledged support for HDV, see the following thread:

However, it seems unclear when the support will actually be

I would want to avoid that tape thing all together if possible but I think it is going to be some time before it hits the market . worth a wait.
