My first annoyance with the V1u
Well, this may sound like I'm being nitpicky, but I found my first annoyance with the V1u. This weekend we were doing an outside wedding, I had bought one of those lcd hoods, put it on, and figured out that the placement of the headphone jack was poorly designed by Sony. The rotation of the lcd while the hood is attached is limited because of where the phone jack is. When I first got the V1u, I thought that headphone jack was in an odd spot.
So that's my first annoyance, other than that, they're doing well. |

Used one of those 90 degree headphone elbow adaptors to get around that problem. Cheers Chris |
I thought about that, but the hood I have actually covers the hole and is flush to the camera, I'll see if I can modify the hood (cut it). Thanks for the suggestion

It seems like there is not much reason to have a hood on that side of the LCD. Obviously, the top is the most important and the left side is second on the list. Except for a triangular bit to act as a brace to hold up the top, you should be able to cut away much of the hood on the right side to provide access to buttons and the connectors.
