Circular or Linear polariser
 
filter on v1p. does it matter (ie. auto focus / aperture readings)

We use Linear, camera seems to work just fine.

I use a linear. From what I've read, circular was only needed for a few cameras for a short time. The polarized light focus mechanisms apparently are not in use much anymore. The VX2000 I had was probably built in 1999 and it did not need a circular polarizer.

I believe cameras use contrast detail to check focus. This is why cameras have trouble focusing in low-light situations. When the light is low and there are no contrasting details and the gain noise comes up, there is nothing to focus on.
