Tape won't go in
 

My A1U just started acting up. When I push in the metal casing for the tape, it doesn't retract, it just stays closed. The metal casing does open up if I close the plastic cover a little and open it back up. This happens with and without a tape in there. I just want to know if anyone dealt with this problem before resorting to sending my A1U in for repair.
