Are the F900R menus, buttons etc similar to the 700's? Thanks

No , they are not.

But the 700 definitely is based on the 900 development.

When you start fiddling through the menus, you will clearly find old friends in the parameters.

Take care to start with a good colour setting in the 700 - the Sony Reset Settings are not ment for shooting ;-)
