Ex mxf

I have extremely limited internet here, so I can't search for the answer.

how come I can't take an EX3 file, rewrapped as MXF and put it on an XDCAM disc?

right now the only way it will work is if I take the mxf into vegas, render it as an mxf, then transfer. makes no sense.
