Hire of prime lenses/adapter in UK

Anyone know if you can hire a suitable adapter and prime lenses for the F350 in the UK? I'm thinking of having a go on a future project.

Paul.

What sort of primes are you after? The Sony 2/3" adapter is readily available and means you can put Canon cine primes or Zeiss 2/3" lenses on it. Or do you mean Nikons etc.?

TBH, I'm really not sure - just wanted to get a great shallow DOF.

What lenses are most available for hire and give the best results?

This is a whole new area I need to get up to speed with :)

Thanks,

Paul.

The depth of field of a prime lens is the same as a zoom at the same focal length and aperture. The only way to get 35mm-type DoF is with one of the adapters from Redrock/Letus etc. that optically convert them (never used one myself) - presumably that's what you're after. Do a search on this forum under Letus - I think there may even be a sub-forum about them.
Also I believe Phil Bloom is a bit of an authority - check his website www.philbloom.co.uk

Yes thanks Steve, I've read everything on here about the Letus and spoken to Phil in the past.

What I was after is if there's a hire outlet for either these or the other alternatives to the Letus (P+S Technik)?

Thanks.

Have you tried Visual Impact? They are probably the best bet. Also www.axisfilms.co.uk has a Pro35 listed for hire.

Thanks - will enquire...

If you want a 2/3" adapter I have one.

Thanks Alister, much appreciated.

After ringing around, a couple of people recommended an adapter with the Pro 35.

Any experience of the Pro35 at all?

Cheers,

Paul.

PS let me know how the shoot went...
