In addition to Thierry's explanation, it should be noted that this feature defaults to OFF in the camera menu. So, if you're looking for something causing extra battery drain, don't look there unless you have previously turned this feature ON.

Hello everyone,

Today i noticed a strange thing wich i think appeared after the update.
The LCD screen looks more clear as Peter already noticed, but it's much more cropped at the bottom of the image. Lowest menu lines drop a little off the screen. It's only on the LCD, not in the VF. Can't find a menu for adjusting the LCD screensize.

Has anybody here the same issue? Please have a look.

The rest of the update works great.

Eelco.

This may seem like a dumb question, but how can you tell what firmware is presently installed in your camera?

Go to the Diagnostic Menu Page that shows ROM version.

I have to amend this to switch the OFF and ON nomenclature. The function is Analog Video Save (as in power save) and defaults to ON as it's a battery save feature.

Firmware applies to F-335 as well?

Hi Greg,
Does this new firmware apply to all of the XDCAM HD Cameras? This group is so f-350 heavy that we seldom hear about the other cameras. I have firmware package 1.76 on an F-335 and was wondering if I should install this new firmware and if I would receive any enhancements to the camera.

Best regards,
Chris

Can anyone confirm this?
thanks

I personally wouldn't take that risk. You might cause yourself a lot of trouble when it doesn't work and your cam has to be repaired.

When I did the upgrade before this one (at a Sony Service) they gave me a PDF file that was the revised version of the F350 manual. Does anybody know if there exists a new version of the manual reflecting the latest firmware upgrade?

There might be something at ftp://storage@ftp.sony.com/XDCAM%20-%20Optical%20Disc/
