Confused about x70 D.Extender!
 

I'm shooting a wedding later today and i'm restricted to the balcony, so I want to use the clear zoom feature, but not the digital zoom.
If I select Clear image zoom in the menu, is that what the D.Extender button turns on and off, or is it turning on digital zoom? It's not very clear in the manual.

The D.Extender button (default quick access button #6) will just turn Digital Extender on/off. It's independent of how you have your zoom settings (e.g. if on only optical, or using optical plus clear image zoom).

AFAIK, there's no quick way to toggle clear image zoom on/off (e.g. assigning a button to bring up the zoom settings).

Thanks Ricky, so the D.Extender is essentially just doing a 50% crop factor on the sensor? (and giving a corresponding loss in resolution?)
