Lightworks NLE works with MXF files!
 

Just tried a brief test with XAVC from the X70. Lightworks ( the free version) seems to import it without a problem. It means we don't need Browse or Prepare. Haven't learnt how to edit yet, but promising. anybody else tried? don't ask me any more, tried it a few minutes ago!

Glad to hear that the XAVC imported without a problem. It's a good idea to look through the video tutorials, combined with a good play around before doing anything serious and not to use Lightworks exactly the same way has your previous NLE. Each software has it's unique ways of doing things.
