Using Firstlight .look in Speedgrade
Hi, has anyone done this ?
I thought about using the white balance and awesome cc options from FL, and then exporting a .look to use within SpeedgradeHD. No luck... there are no settings in the .look reflected on SGHD...any suggestions ? TIA Pedro |
I don't believe you can create a .look file in first light, only recall one per video clip. You can create a .look file in speedgrade though.

Yes you can ;)
In FirstLook, make your adjustments as needed. Then go down the right pane to the LUT section and click Export. name it and save it. This exports the .look LUT file. Then go to that file and double-click on it. This registers that .look with the system's CFHD database, so now you can assign it to any clip in FirstLight as a LUT. Voila. |
Can you use that LUT in Speedgrade HD
Thanks Alex, but then the question is cna you use that .look within Speedgrade HD ?
That is what I tried, but did not work. I did not double click on it after exporting it though... Will try that and report back. Pedro |
Sorry Pedro, I don't use Speedgrade, so I wouldn't know.
One would think that all .look files should be standardized, no? In any case, I was only commenting on whether it is possible to create .look files with FirstLight, and yes it is. |
