LOL! Close, but no Cigar.

Chris Hurd just emailed me, he and the moderators have narrowed it down to 3 choices. He'll be posting it soon!

Mike

Mike Horrigan February 16th, 2007 12:59 PM

Theme: Anticipation

The theme is ANTICIPATION.

I'll be posting an update on my site, just check my signature.

Thanks to Chris and the Mods for this suggestion. They narrowed it down to 3 today and asked which one I wanted to lean towards. I chose this one since it seemed to have the most possibilities.

Good luck!

Mike

PS- There is still a one week sign-up window for the stragglers. You must sign up here though.

Bob Thieda February 16th, 2007 01:21 PM

Well, I got together with a friend of mine last night and we hammered out a rough draft and a couple of storyboards. We think that we have a pretty good idea for the theme, hopefully it will translate well.

I also plan on doing a LOT of different style shots for this one, different for me anyway.

How is everyone else doing?

Bob Thieda February 19th, 2007 01:02 PM

Hey LeRoy....glad you made it!

So you just have to make a short 4 minutes or less about Anticipation? That's the whole contest? If so, I'm in. If not...inform me...and I'll probably still be in. Sounds like fun...

Daniel Gast February 21st, 2007 01:28 PM

Sorry, browser screwed up = double post. Appologies.

That's it! The theme is anticipation, 4 minutes or less. Must be completed by March 9th, 2007.

The deadline for signing up is February 23rd, 2007.

You made it, I'll add you to the list!

Cheers,

Mike

Please do your best to hand something in. Remember, it doesn't have to be that long, you just have to use the theme ANTICIPATION.

You still have 2 weeks!

Get out there and shoot! It's all about having fun and sharing your work.

Cheers,

Well, let's see...so far I've learned that my remote lens controller doesn't work, and that I should stop trying to work with animals (in this case, the four-footed kind). Other than that--oh, and not having a story--it's going just great! :)

Quick question... I'm going to have my computer in a couple of my shots... regarding trademarked names, do I need to cover them for this contest? For example: HP, Coca Cola, etc.

Thanks,
LeRoy

Dennis Khaye February 28th, 2007 09:15 PM

...in this case, the four-footed kind...

Yah, I gave up working with lobsters too. We still have them for the cast and crew appreciation party though.

All my footage is shot except the shower scene. I found out today I also need to do a bit of ADR work.

I think it will be alright... this is just a "fun" challenge. I would try to keep as much of that kind of thing out as possible though.

Don't give up! I've seen what you are capable of... I'm sure that you'll work your magic.

There won't be much, I just don't want to go around my house putting masking tape over everything I own, or touch everything up in post if it's not necessary. Thanks.

:-)

Dennis Khaye March 1st, 2007 12:07 PM

I was AD on a home invasion spoof and they ended up putting the blur mask with motion tracking on the logos. Of course they did it on everything and even some things that didn't need it. Turned to be a really funny running gag.

Mike Horrigan March 2nd, 2007 01:58 PM

Alright gang... this is the last weekend to get some real work done. Bunker down and get going! ;)

Good luck everyone,

Mike

Chris Barcellos March 2nd, 2007 06:24 PM

So is it bunker down north of the border. Here in California, we hunker down, I think.....

Wow there is actually warm sunshine out here today...

Whatever way you want to look at it. ;)

Just get out there and keep your "eye on the prize".

Hopefully that translates well...

:)

Dennis Khaye March 3rd, 2007 01:29 AM

We get prizes?!?!?!

LOL!

Yeah.... respect! ;)

And don't forget, Honour & Glory.

Dennis Khaye March 3rd, 2007 02:47 PM

What a deal! Fun, practice, honor, glory and now, BONUS, respect too!

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I was just playing but the respect thing is news to me. ;o)

Mike Horrigan March 3rd, 2007 03:05 PM

LOL!

Well... I'm VERY close to finishing this challenge. I just have one really important scene to shoot during the week, and a small scene to shoot this evening.

Then I should be done.

I can't wait to finish piecing it all together.

Mike
