Good Stuffs
Matt,
Overall that had some great variety of content (that song's catchy!!) and shows some solid cinematography skill! My only suggestion is that from most of the Demo reels that I have seen, all the footage is cut to a single tune, but that could be a matter of taste. Cheers and keep on going! |
yup.. very shaky:)
but thanks for the comments:) appreciate it! |
I really liked it to be honest,it has a raw feel to it.

trailer for documentary im working on
im new at this, but this is the footage i have so far...
some of it is filmed with a very crappy dv camera.. but the content is good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuJcaRe30nQ |
It's just a short little teaser... any comments?
Good or bad... Thanks, Mike |
Not quite sure what it's about, but I like the style.
I hope the baby is supposed to be a doll, cause it looks fake in the bag. Also... your lead guy looks like Christian Bale.. nice. |

Kevin,
Thank you for the review. I agree 100% about the tripod scene. I was actually planning on it being quicker with a lot of ECU and CU shots of the setup and the character, rather then the one longshot. This was at the end of the shoot which was already over an hour longer than planned (the owners of the house came home while we were still shooting, so it was tough). Those shots got forgotten, I didn't have a shot list that day, just the script with some notes. Very good comment on the closet. I hadn't thought of that one at all. Hmm. Maybe I can fix that one in post sometime, when I have a chance. I'm pretty sure that could be done with a color-correction mask. I hope I do well in the challenge, I'm just glad I'm off the wall this time. Took me 24 hours (give or take) to shoot and edit. All in all, I think my DVC film turned out well and definately I am improving with each film (according to me and my friends, hahaha). At least I learn something new every time. |
Not bad! My suggestion would be to add more angles while filming. It seemed like we were looking at that table from the same general direction for most of the film.
Maybe a shot from overhead would have been cool. Also, I would tighten up the edit. For example, seeing him cut up the entire apple isn't really needed. Watch it critically, when a scene starts to get dull, or the point has been made... cut. Very good though overall. Mike |
Last of the Living - NZ feature film
Hi all,
Just thought i'd share the trailer for my debut feature film 'Last of the Living'. http://www.gorillapictures.co.nz/lotl Its a New Zealand zombie/comedy much in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead. We have shot 90% of the film and are shooting the final scenes this December with completion due for Jan 08. Then off to festivals. There are details on the site if you want to invest in the film as well - we are looking for another 40,000 USD to finish the film. Check it out and give us some feedback on the trailer.....please :) Cheers Logan btw - shot on Canon XLHD1 with Redrock Micro 35mm adapter & Nikon prime lenses. |
My first mini-promo video
Well I work part-time for my friend who is a tree surgeon so I thought I'd do a web-site and little promotional video for it. It was difficult since I had to bring my FX1 to work, get a few shots here, do some work, get some shots there, do some more work etc..lol. I'd love to get some feedback since I've got to do another promo vid for an orienteering club in September so comments and criticism is welcome lol
The temporary website is: http://www.angelfox.co.uk or you can go straight to the video: High Quality: http://www.angelfox.co.uk/marshall_video_large.wmv Low Quality: http://www.angelfox.co.uk/marshall_video.wmv |
Well done!
I like the shots you chose, and I think that the video covers all the important details about the services offered. |
Check out these clips
I took a clip from one of my films (currently in festivals) and altered the soundtrack music to demonstrate the power of music...
original clip at: http://geozero.com/html/musicpower.html Alternate clips: click the camera icon. There are 3 more clips. Same scene but different music. YOU WILL NEED Quicktime plugin for PC. Let me know what you think or if you have music needs. Enjoy. |
