War Film Teaser
A teaser / short that was created during a 2-day SFX and pyrotechnics workshop in fall 2010. Some of the camerawork is by me, so I´d love to hear your thoughts.

Re: War Film Teaser
Thats quite an odd mix of modern weapons and ww2 outfits but i supose it was just a pyrotechnics workshop and didn't need to match.
It looks like a fun workshop to take part in and a qualification in pyro is a good thing to have. Camera work seemed fine although there was no particular story to follow, purely as an exercise it was pretty cool. Andy |
Re: War Film Teaser
Thanks! It was a lot of fun, and as it turns out a lot of the bread and butter pyrotechnics are fairly easy to rig, and doable on a small budget. Its just that within the EU there´s differing laws from country to country that make it more troublesome than it need be.
There´s another workshop in may that I´m looking forward to (vehicle explosions), I´m hoping that we´ll manage a bit more coherence (or probably not). At least it´ll be an exploding car and people in 1980s action film situations. :) |
Re: War Film Teaser
Good afternoon,
For an exercise it was pretty awesome. The camera work was pretty good too!!! Definitely need a couple M1 grands for rifles. My favorite was the explosion around by the fellow and the flame wrapped slightly around his chin, looked pretty real. when the guys were running down the hill and the emulation of mortars hitting around them was perhaps the least realistic, mostly because of the flames shooting straight up. I have had them pretty near me and it is nothing like that, more of outward explosions. Pretty cool non the less!!!!! show us morre after your next go at it!!! |

I did some work with a stunt team that were stationed in Afghanistan and they showed me footage they had taken on their mobile phones during a fire fight...where they found the time to do so is beyond me!. It was quite funny sitting round the camp fire with them ...the front line guys were taking the micky out the tank drivers and artillary guys for being so far away from the action, they were some interesting characters. |
