D*mn!

I don't know if I should be embarassed that I got that wrong, or if I should be proud that I don't know Top Gun or Footloose well enough to get it right :)

(sorry for the sidetrack...)

Okay, George, I checked out your new version. A couple of things . . .

First off, I like the motion background much, MUCH better now. It's not distracting, although it appears to 'hicup' every once and a while. If that's actually happening, and it's not just a web compression issue, you could fix it quickly with a transition on the background.

I also like the song choice better, obviously.

I still feel like there is too much slo-mo. There are just parts where not much is happening visibly, even if it was real-time, and having those parts present in slo-mo just about drives me nuts, because I lose interest. It would be just about like looking at a still picture for 30 seconds in a video. You can only look at so much before your interest fades.

I love the freeze-frame shot at the end. Excellent framing and composition. However, as it fades out, so does the motion background with the rings. This creates a distraction right at the end, because our eyes try to focus on the new subject that is visible (the rings), but they fade out. I would really recommend fading the freeze-frame to the background, and then holding with the background for a bit, and then fade the background out.

Other than that, lookin' good.

I agree with Travis -- this is much better now, but there really is too much slo-mo. There is a section near the end, where the official is speaking (I presume), and I wasn't sure if anyone was moving. It seemed to go on for 30-40 seconds, but probably was much less. Cut to some b-roll: pictures of them as kids, or early in their relationship, or at the lake, etc.

I do like the freeze frame at the end, though. Very nice.
