Shoulder Stabilizers
I just feel like some of my shots with my XL-1 aren't as steady as I like. I lost the shoulder mount so I don't use anything for a Shoulder Stabilizer. I don't know how much that thing did anyway.
What are others doing? What do people think about the Varizoom VZ-1SHOOTER. Is going to help or is it just more for fatigue ( which I don't have much of a problem with). What about a Glidecam system? That seems like it would up the fatigue factor. Thanks for the help. |
I use the MA-100 setup, works well for me, and provides a platform for other accessories, such as a wireless mic receiver.
There are many other shoulder mounts that work well too, even some reviews here. http://www.dvinfo.net/canon/articles.php#support It gets to be a matter of personal preference. |
I recently bought a Spider Brace. Search the "Support your camera" discussion and you'll find more information. I am very pleased with it for what I need it for. As far as fatigue goes, I rigged a harness using a workmen's padded belt, workman's suspenders, couple of 3/4" straps and some carabiners. It does nothing while shooting but is great between shots. The suspenders shift the weight from neck (using standard neck strap) to the more cushioned shoulders and stronger mid back which is far better for me. Your mileage may vary.
