Canon always had the over saturated color with their video cameras, I remember when I used XL1 I had to reduce the saturation too and A LOT.

I converted some of the 5D files to Canopus HQ...

I converted some of the 5D files to Canopus HQ using Procoder and it increased the size by about 25 times. A 89Meg files increased to 2027Meg, is that right?
