Cinematography Theory & Practice
Cinematography : Image Making for Cinematographers, Directors and Videographers
by Blain Brown http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/0240805003/ Just picked this book up on Friday so my recommendation may be a bit premature but from what I've read so far I think I can recommend it. The book covers many aspects of the cinematographic process from the basic principles of lens types and cinematic techniques to colour theory, shooting on DV/High Def and bleach bypass. So it covers quite a wide range of topics. It's the kind of book I like. It covers the basics, which is always worth a read as one can usually find out something new, especially in this book as there are examples images from films, all the way to technical information. |
Have you read "The Five C's of Cinematography?" I'd like something to supplement that. Is this a good choice?

I know of "The Five C's…" but have not read it. I've been dipping into the book I mentioned and have found it to be pretty good. Sorry I can't suggest it as a supplement to "The Five C's…" but I don't think you'll be dissapionted if you were to pick up a copy. |
