I have a 3-light kit made of teeny-weeny moles/barndoors/stands that has seen a couple of decades and shows it cosmetically. Everything is functional, there are some extras (an on-camera light plus some other stuff), and it's in a hard case with wheels. These are perhaps 500w open faces, comparable to Lowel Omni (but much sturdier). They do have a spot/flood focus control.
I paid $800 plus shipping about 4 years ago... but perhaps overpaid and would let it go for much less. What is your budget? If this sounds like something you're interested in please PM me and I'll send some pictures and do a real inventory of what's in it (haven't opened the case this year!) One thing that I liked about this kit is that it's fairly lightweight - you could check it on an airline with a couple stingers stuffed in and not pay overbaggage charges. |

1. Sony VX2100, that was used only for backup purposes and 3rd camera. I would rate the body as an A (minor scrape of two, and the operation ability of the camera as A+. I have personally cleaned the heads myself, by hand, and never had a dropped frame. 2. Power 2000 (2) long life batteries. These are identical to the Sony NP970 batteries. 3. Impact battery charger 4. Vanguard hard case with pick and pluck foam. 5. Remote Commander control (not pictured) ADDED 6. DC power cable (not pictured) ADDED 7. VX2100 instruction manual ADDED Again this camera is in immaculate condition with no problems, as I'm extremely anal about all of my equiptment. I also have some additional accessories (adapters and such) I might be able to dig up to throw in. |

This tripod system in EXCELLENT condition. Just come back from Sachtler USA. They totally refurbished to new condition. Brand new counterbalance springs, four steps drug for panning and tilting are working just like new. Rebuilt for 100% working condition.

Hi Evan, thanks for the question: ideally I want to avoid the aggravation of an "export" with the associated paperwork.

Sounds good. If I still have it in a couple weeks I'll re-mail you. Jason, It depends on the buyer. I will be in touch about this once I have a firm buyer in place. Ive received some questions about why I am selling. I need a second XH-A1 for an upcoming gig and must (unwillingly) sell the Brevis to be able to purchase a second unit. cheers -adam |
Are you willing to sell the "low mode cage (already assembled)"?
I'd like to run it on my smoothshooter + glidecam 4000 if possible. |
Matt, how does this particular wide angle lens perform on the VX? Does it cut down on the light, any vignetting? How does it pair with Z1s and FX1s - have you tried?
I could do this research myself, but forgive me, I don't have the time right now. I am interested though. |
Greg, is mailing to Canada that rough on you guys? When I get stuff from the USA, there's usually just a little form stuck to the package that lists the content and value. Do they make you fill out more paperwork that doesn't get sent along?
When I send things to the USA, there's no extra paperwork other than the same little form you stick on, so I'm curious if it's the same. |
Ervin:
I've shot this lens with my VX2000 and my FX1. On the VX2000, it doesn't miss a beat. Images are great. You will have barrel distortion. Part of the territory with this lense. I have also shot it with the FX1. You need a step up adapter, 58-72. As I recall, it does not create any vignetting, even at maximum wide, as I recall, but I will recheck to confirm. I think resolution is softened a bit, but it is not unpleasant, and actually may give FX1 a more organic feel. |
Chris,
thank you for the response. This is all uncharted teritorry for me and I think I already made the first big mistake - I interpreted the lens as a 16x9 adaptor lens instead of what really is. That's why I asked about how would the VX outfitted with this lens pair with Z1/FX1 working in wide mode... my question didn't make much sense, did it? What I am really looking for is a third camera to use with a Z1 and an FX1 we have available at my church. For right now we shoot SD and 4x3 but I suspect we will move sooner to 16x9 SD than we need to move to HD, so the low light champ would make a good companion for the younger brothers and would be still usable (with a 16x9 adapter) when we go 16x9. |
OK It's Monday
