how much should i pay for a near mint vx1000?
looking to buy one from someone and dont want to be over charged.

$600 US. In fact, I wouldn't even pay $200 for one.

You'd be much better off with a used VX2000---for $1450 US maybe?

I agree, I wouldn't pay too much for one but look at ebay sometime. People pay very high prices for any 3ccd unit. Vx1000's can bring 12 or $1300 easily. Used Vx2000's normally can't be touched for under $1800. Once in a while they can but most of them sell for around $1700 to $2000. Used GL1's bring $1200 to $1500. It's crazy but people on ebay will pay almost new prices for a used camera. I don't understand, but check for yourself, it's happening.

i actually own a dvx100, but my friend has a vx1000 that he has never used. so i was willing to take it off his hands. i wanted to know how much i should give him for it. i dont really need the camera though.
