I haven't kept track of the exact hours. I've used a new tape everytime I go videotape an event or something so I've got a box of 30, of which I've used a few in my ZR60 so I'll say 25 hours Max filming + the same capturing into Premiere.

I bought it from Crutchfield.com last September.

The only accessories would be a carry bag & a mini-disc Sony Minidisc MZ-R700

Dustin, I think Jarrett is looking for some cash.

Dustin Waits June 9th, 2004 09:14 AM

yea I wasnt expecting him to want to trade for my stuff anyway.

Jarrett Towe June 9th, 2004 09:17 AM

Hey guys! I am analyzing the situation and tryignto assess fair market value for a dvc-80 bought in october.
I am going to give each offer a fair shake, I dont want to come off as a greedy guy, just tryign to get the best value out of an exceptional camera that I have little use for.

murph is right!!

first things first.... murph is right, dont give up! we all have are tough times with this. you have many great resources these days (like this site for one) ask for help/opinions...you'll get plenty! maybe you'll find the right person to collaborate with that has strengths where you have weaknesses. maybe life will bring changes to your life that will allow you to make a great film! (hope so!) you never know where this life will take you! (i just got back in after ten years way out of it and it feels great! it was a huge piece missing from my life) anyway, i encourage you to try again and again until you do get it right! (good luck)

secondly, if that didnt charge you up enough to jump back in,.... do you have a tripod for sale?

ps. your links arent working for some reason....

Anyone willing to loan out?

Hey guys, I'm preparing to shoot a short this July. I'm trying to find a mini-DV camera which I can borrow, I'm not very picky, but perhaps Canon or Panasonic a full package with lenses as well. I am planning to buy a miniDV camera (off this very board), and rent another one to attempt to shoot with 2 cameras. Sort of working my way up as far as experience goes, I'm tired of doing 1-camera shoots.

I'm pulling this number out of my hat, but perhaps $200-300 for a couple weeks? Open to negotiation of course. I realize I only have 2 posts on this website, but I'm a verified pay pal user, I'd pay you first, can give out all my information (perhaps you can put up an e-bay auction, and I'll "buy it now" with insurance so you can get some sort of guarantee).

Anyway, I'm very good with equipment, this is also mainly an interior shoot. Anyone? If no one is willing, are there any online stores which rent out equipment?

Adrian Douglas June 10th, 2004 09:32 PM

Andres you're not going to get any responses unless you tell people where you are. People are not going to trust someone who doesn't even give their location.

Josh Brusin June 10th, 2004 09:34 PM

why not buy and return? If you're only shooting for 2 weeks that should work... go to best buy.

Andres Bant June 10th, 2004 10:15 PM

Whoops, I am located in Boston Massachusetts.

You think it would work to buy and return? It's not a bad idea actually, essentially a free cost.

Mike Rehmus June 10th, 2004 11:56 PM

Guys, we don't approve of cheating on DVI. It isn't fair to the seller and since it raises prices for all of us, it isn't fair to anyone.

Furthermore it's just plain dishonest.

Ken Tanaka June 11th, 2004 12:28 AM

Andres,
Indeed, the buy/use/return is really not a good idea at all.

If you can't afford to buy the gear, rent it. I'm sure Boston has several good rental shops. Good places offer more than just gear. They can also offer some good advice on what you'll need and, sometimes, how to use it.

Which leads me to one last matter. It sounds like you're also going to have to allow yourself time to learn to effectively use whatever camera you get.

Tyge Floyd June 11th, 2004 12:45 AM

A quick search returned a few rental avenues.

Somehow, I knew it would be a great pleasure dealing with the warden here. The transaction was perfect in every way.

Thanks so much, Ken, for everything! I've been waiting for something like this for use in an upcoming project--the timing was just right.

Ken Tanaka June 11th, 2004 01:30 AM

I am delighted to have the mic employed productively, Lorinda. It looked so forlorn just sitting on my desk.

No longer available

Josh Brusin June 11th, 2004 09:06 PM

I agree with it not being cool to buy and return... I find that 15% restocking fee also to be kind of crappy. I guess if you can't afford several hundred for a short you're not really trying.
I'd say "any means necessary" starts with getting a job and saving some scratch.

Christopher C. Murphy June 12th, 2004 03:13 PM

Hi, is this belt still available?

I live close to Sommerville, so I could even pick it up with cash.

Thanks, Murph

For Trade: Century Fisheye Adapter for XL1

I've had this sitting around since I bought my camera and have never used it other then to see what it did and I've decided I want to get rid of it but would rather trade it then sell it off.

It's the Century Optics VS-FEWA-XL Fisheye Adapter for the XL1(S) camera with a bayonet mount.

Here's a link to it at the BH site:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=154837&is=REG

The lens is in the original packaging as when it came from B&H (even has the BH part number sticker on it) and it is in absolute, 100% mint condition. Guaranteed.

as to what I'm looking for... Good microphone(s), sound stuff, lights, matteboxes, filters, jibs... I'm open to just about anything that is production related but those are the initial things that popped into my head.

email me with suggestions and offers and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks!

selling my sony dcr-pc9

Selling my consumer dcr-pc9 sony camera. i have only had a tape dropout with this cam once and it has pretty low hours. no meter, but i'd say no more than 15-20.
comes with battery, charger, and manual if i can find it. this would make a great addition as a DV DECK as it is small and protable, and it does actually rewind/ff/play pretty quickly, all with a touch screen.
i bought this 3 years ago for 1299 am letting it go for 375$ but make offers. i can suppy pics if wanted.
will TRADE for a me66/k6 kit

also availible: sony directional mic ECM-Z37C, i bought this 4 months ago for 150$, will sell for 80$. heres a link http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/-/-/-/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?CategoryName=pa_PADepartmentAccessories_Microphones_CamcorderMics&ProductSKU=ECMZ37C

will also trade the mic.

New poster here. Someone pointed me to this offer. I am interested and don't want to trade or barter. I sent a private email to you as well.

Contact me.

Kevin Burnfield June 13th, 2004 10:16 AM

I just thought of this: I will also consider this lens in trade toward part of the price of something... like I said, drop me a line and maybe we can work something out.

Jonathan Stanley June 13th, 2004 12:04 PM

Hey Kevin,
I have been looking for a fisheye like that. The only thing I have to trade is a Jib from Studio 1 : http://www.studio1productions.com/dv_jib.htm

I got this jib by returning a camera brace that I bought from them that was past the return date. I offered to pay them a little to get the jib. I thought I might use it...yea right. I have played with it a few times in the studio but never used it on a shoot.

Would you be up for a trade? Maybe my jib plus $50-60? Let me know. Email is jonnystan@charter.net

K. Forman June 13th, 2004 03:18 PM

It would be cheaper and easier to hire someone with their own cam.
