EDIT: Realized the topic creator is looking to buy, not selling. whoops.

EDIT II: I'm looking to switch from the XL1 to an XL1s. So if someone's selling an XL1s body only I'd take it off their hands and in turn sell mine to someone looking for the plain jane XL1.

B&H sells a new body only kit for $2,749.00. I have no idea of the depreciation of the unit once it's a. a 'second hand' item, and b. out of it's service warranty window. But I think $1500-2000 may be a reasonable price. Body kit doeesn't have the lens (obviously) nor the viewfinder. Wonder if anyone has ever sold a new PAL Body-only kit? Even though I'm in the US I prefer the SE over the S.

I'd like to appologize in advance if this is hijacking your thread Mr. Beazley and will edit if it is.

price lowered

Any takers at $15 before I move this item over to ebay...?

Josh Brusin May 20th, 2004 09:30 PM

XL1 (not s) around a grandish...
would like one just as a spare.

Josh Brusin May 20th, 2004 09:32 PM

XL1s maybe $1500-$1800?

Jochen Wahl May 21st, 2004 07:23 AM

Hi,
thanks for you offer, but it's more then I can invest.
I saw your thead a few weeks ago. There you would
like to sell it for 750 USD.

Piers Harding May 21st, 2004 07:40 AM

Thanks for the response. Thats over my budget though, sorry. Its also only about £400 cheaper than I can buy new in the UK (including the batteries) and there's always the chance of being stung for import tax (although I'm checking to see if this applies to secondhand goods...).

Philip Boyer May 21st, 2004 07:46 AM

I sent you an email.

Joe Lloyd May 21st, 2004 03:05 PM

how much are you looking to pay?

Todd Emrich May 22nd, 2004 05:18 PM

Ed,

I am interested in the Canon equalizer, rail slicker, and wide angle adaptor if available.

Thanks,

Todd Emrich

from a happy buyer

Just to let everyone know, doing business with Don is GREAT, so if you're interested in any of the other stuff he's got listed for sale here, don't hesitate! (Except his MA-100--I bought that, too :)

I love my *new* monitor, Don!!! Thanks again.

Joe Holt May 24th, 2004 08:31 AM

Price reduction

Well, Lots of looks but no offers so here's what I'm going to do.
This same Turn-Key system sells for $10K at B&H without the (2) 19" computer monitors. Here's my final price for the whole system posted above.
$7500
This is my last post before taking this to eBay (as much as I hate the idea). I really want this system to find a good home. As I said above, if you're only interested in the Reality Hardware and Velocity Software without the computer, I'm willing to make a deal.
Joe

FS: Bogen 3251 Tripod / 3130 Head

Manfrotto (Bogen) #3251 Tripod (legs): A favorite professional tripod for medium format cameras up to 5 X 4", the 3251 is one of the most exciting tripods in the whole Manfrotto line. Features patented automatic simultaneous or individual leg release system that permits the legs to be extended, the tripod levelled (spirit level included) and locked in seconds without the need for individual leg adjustment. Rubber feet with retractable spiked feet are standard. This tripod is capable of extremely low camera position with the platform at only 17", yet has the ability to go up and stand over 7 feet!

Maximum height: 85.5"
Minimum height: 17.4"
Closed length: 37.1"
Maximum load capacity: 26.5 lbs
Weight: 13.6 lbs
List price: $396.00

Chris Hurd’s quote in reference to the Bogen 3251 legs: “I'm using the Bogen 3251 sticks. This is the "automatic" tripod with a black finish. Tom Mckay has the silver version of this, and that's where I first saw it. A little on the heavy side, but the ability to extend all three legs with the push of a lever is quite choice. It's also great for breakdown... just push a lever and collapse the pod... easy, fast.”

Manfrotto (Bogen) #3130 Quick Release Micro Fluid Head: A lightweight fluid head with adjustable pan bar and quick-release camera plate with secondary security. Ideal for cameras up to 8.9 lbs in weight. The head has smooth fluid movements, pan and tilt locks. The adjustable pan bar can be positioned either on the left or right side.

Maximum Capacity: 8.9 lbs
List price: $103.00

I have a Lowell Omni w/500W bulb if you're interested.

I thought you might want to trade one of your DP's for my Omni, you would still have more flexibility than just having two DP's.
