Lawrence---
No low mode. No LCD.

if you have an interest, I can get shipping info.

Charles Papert September 16th, 2004 12:23 PM

Just a quick note:

Low mode can be achieved without the dedicated bracket by simply flipping the rig over (a top to bottom rebalance is usually required to achieve the proper bottom-heaviness). Then you simply invert the footage in your NLE. It's a bit of a cheat but it works fine, and may be more stable to boot (there's sometimes a bit of flex in the low mode bracket).

For Sale: Lights!

I am selling 3 2kWatt Strand Lighting Fresnelites, 2 4kWatt Mole Richardson Softlights, and 4 sidearm ceiling mounts. The softlights and 2 of the 3 Fresnelites include barndoors. All lights are used but in good shape and operate fine. They are just too big and powerful for my purposes. I need to sell these soon so make me an offer! (I am currently asking for $2500 for the lot) Come by and take a look! (I may also be willing to sell the lights individually). My email is dugc@hotmail.com and my cell is 510-472-3152. Thanks!

Doug, please post your location, or include it in your user profile.

How do you know the camera is under 40 hours? Is there a warranty with the purchase? What are your return options if dissatisfied? Since you're a dealer I would guess you have a generous warranty and return policy.

Canon XL1A response

Hi Jeff

I am a used equipment dealer not a new equipment dealer. The warrenty offered by used equipment dealers and by myself is one long enough to check out the equipment to make sure you get what you bargined for. Normally 3 days.

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia and I bought it from a client in the next province over, in Moncton, New Brunswick. He bought it a few years back from the local Panasonic dealer in Halifax who I know well.

The previous owner is a government worker and huge movie buff with several hundred video/DVD titles. So he figured, how hard can it be to make something. He bought a Panasonic AG-DV1000 which I had a buyer for, a Lowel light kit and the camera system and tripod.

When he went to shot his first feature, he had trouble with actors, permits etc. He handled the bulbs for the light kit with bare fingers so they blew up when he turned the lights on. He then came to the conclusion that making movies was a little harder than anticipated and the camera sat on the shelf
along with a lot of wishful thoughts.

He really didn't want to sell the stuff but I got him when the transmission went in his car.

I used the camera to shoot the tall ships while they were in Halifax but I really don't have time to be a shooter. I'm keeping the lights and tripod but the camera is for sale.

The camera and accessories are mint, not a scratch.

There are several companies in the US who I do work with who can verify our reputation. For the most part we work with higher end equipment (switchers, Hi-Def equipment, Betacam), this however is my camera.

Pictures are available at www.techtraders.com - click on used equipment > video and look under Cameras

Did you find one?

I have a full size svhs camera that I will sell. Please contact me.

Ron Quizon September 17th, 2004 09:02 PM

I have received several inquiries about my sale, but nothing solid has turned up. Any last takers before I send it off to ebay? BTW, the ones on there are moving (for what looks to be a rip-off) but with less extras.

Thanks again for looking...

Ron
