Hi to Manchester

If the lens has a 58mm thread it could be of interest to a lot of others. I have a sony PD150 that also uses 58mm, for instance. No i do not need one as I already bought.
Point is that if you highlight the thread,as well as what you use it on, you might widen your market.

Good luck

Martin

Hello
Will the unit play back tapes? Rewind, pause?

Thanks Steve

Nick Underwood October 10th, 2005 03:55 PM

Hi Martin...

Don't take this the wrong way mate, but...

...what a strange post...?!!

Not really sure what point you are making there..!!

Well....as the thread title says....its a CANON WD58H wide angle lens.

So....it has a 58mm thread and made by Canon...for anything with a 58mm thread...

...?!!

I have an XM2 (GL2) that I've used it on...

..?!!

Hey everyone,

Selling my PV-GS400 + accessories as I just bought a digital SLR and am short on cash. I bought the GS400 about 6 months ago, it's been through about 10 tapes. There are some superficial scratches on the outside of the LCD monitor (on the body), other than that, it's in like new condition.

Also will include:
- Rode Videomic in like new condition
- Raynox HD-6600 Pro .66x WA converter in like new condition
- 256MB Kingston SD card (for stills)
- 72mm petal hood for the WA

- and of course, everything in the original box + the box

I paid over $1600 for the kit and will let it go for $1200. Please e-mail me or post here if interested. I can send pictures and any additional information.

Thanks!

Optex responded

This is what Optex said:

"I had the technicians look at this and the pictures from your client and they thought that the quality was probably very similar to other units that they had seen or that we have in stock. Unfortunately the anamorphic process at the front of the lens does tend to leave some picture defects - either magnified from the normal lens or introduced - compared to the more normal practice of rear of lens conversions."

They gave me the choice between having it sent back to me OR having it credited. That was an easy decision!

I really think it's very professional from them to offer me my money back.

So, consider this item closed. Sold to the highest bidder, the factory itself!

Pete Bauer October 11th, 2005 05:17 AM

Hi Andrew,

Presume that's $2400 Canadian? I think that price would be a bit high in US dollars. I'm sure you'll have a buyer in no time. Best wishes.

Smith Victor SL300 Softlight 3 light kit

Received rather little use. Purchased in a larger package and I already have my own lighting setup so this is available. If I cannot sell it as a whole kit, I would listen to offers for one light/with bulb and stand. BH sell this kit for 500US. These are great lights for a reception (no need to bring an extra softbox) or any sort of location lighting where you have access to power. Once I show couples the difference one of these lights can make for their video, they nearly always consent to having it used at the reception, and it make the job much easier. I'm looking for $340 for 3 lights with bulbs (low hours on all, like 10 hours kind of low), as well as the three lights stands. Lights have built in diffused and they bounce off the back. Just throw it on the stand, plug it in and point.

This is the info from B&H.

Smith-Victor SL300 Softlight Tungsten Light Kit - consists of: 3 Softlights 600W, 3 Lamps, 3 Stands and Light Cart on Wheels - 1800 Total Watts

A mini-soft box/quartz halogen light. This new light gives you up to 600 watts of soft, diffused quartz light from a concealed source. Unit comes with a DYH 600 watt quartz lamp.

Key Features

•Perfect size
Compact size, plus instant set-up makes it perfect for any location or studio

•Long lamp life
High/low switching gives you added flexibility and conserves lamp life

•Diffused soft light
The light bounces out of the soft, etched reflector for diffused light without the need for accessories

Romek Rasenas October 11th, 2005 10:16 AM

Anyone?? Before i throw it on ebay?

Ben Campbell October 11th, 2005 10:21 AM

...actually, It doesn't take much to find one for 3000 new if one does a little searching...

Andrew C. Stewart October 11th, 2005 10:24 AM

I'm new at this whole thing but was looking for a soft light solution. All I have now is cobbled together (some dishlamps, worklight etc.) Is this kit good for studio lighting. Like would this meet most of my indoor shooting needs?

I'm assuming this package comes with everything listed including all necessary power cords, etc?

$340 sounds reasonable. Can you pay shipping?

Thanks!

Andy Stewart

Martin Archer-Shee October 11th, 2005 10:26 AM

hi Nick

nothing taken the wrong way. Your comments are exactly what I meant. Too often when one says someting is a "name brand" widget, people feel limited to that brand without realising it might work on many others.

anyway, best of luck in selling it

Martin

Patrick Moreau October 11th, 2005 11:07 AM

Andy,

This is a rather versatile setup and has lots of power, the 1/2 or full power option is great. You might want to make another simple diffuser out of a translucent cloth to soften it more. Another option would be to buy or make a small reflector that you can place on the other side of the subject. In all honestly, I think as a complete studio setup we would be better to mix this set with my set. I could offer you two of this lamps, with stand, cords etc, and one of my 250W lights that has a softbox and allows you to go from 1/8th power al the way up to full. Combining that one, with these two, will give you many different combinations for the strength of the light and allow you to be more creative. The kit comes with everything original except for the case, instead of the large plastic case, I have a large nylon bag made for a lighting setup. I can keep the price the same and switchone light for a softbox and one of these other lamps. I can also pslit on shipping if that works for you. Feel free to contatc me directly for my home number to discuss.

Andrew Almendarez October 11th, 2005 01:47 PM

yes, tape drive itself is working great.

(edit)

But i wouldn't trust the heads as a play back deck, I'm not really sure if its just dirty heads or if they actualy need to be ajusted. When i first read this, I was thinking about the gears as replacement parts. I Wouldn't feel right selling it as a working camera or playback deck.

thanks

Canon EF 100-300mm L lens for sale

Hey Ladies and Gents
I have for sale a Canon EF 100-300mm 'L' series lens. I'm offering it cheap because it is in rough exterior shape. The barrel body has lots of scratches, and the front glass has a 2mm long scratch in it as well. Yes, that is a scratch IN the glass. No, I didn't cause it. If it doesn't sell here in a week or so, it goes on Ebay.

So the bad news is a scratch and rough exterior, but here is the good news:
That scratch does not turn up in photos (that I have noticed).
The lens is in good working condition.
It takes sharp photos.
Comes with a UV filter (if the previous owner had shelled out for one, it wouldn't be scratched...)
It is pretty cheap for L series glass.
I am flexible on the price.
I am open to trade offers (looking for a Panasonic FX9 still digicam, better video tripod, or whatever.)

I can provide sample photos taken with it for you to inspect as well as pics of the scratch if you are seriously interested, just email me.
I'm selling it because I bought a Sigma 50-500mm lens.

Here is a pretty honest review of the lens:
http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/r...anon100300.htm

My asking price is $350us/$420cdn. The ones I have seen for sale on Ebay (in mint condition) have sold for about $400-$500us. Shipping will probably be $10.

Yes, I take Paypal from forum members.

Thanks!

Nick,

I think Martin is just suggesting more explicit language may expand your market and sales potential... some may not know what the thread size of their camera is.... believe it or NOT!!

Nick Underwood October 12th, 2005 12:41 AM

Thanks guys

Advice taken on board..

Hopefully, my reply to Martin (although tongue-in-cheek) will have made the detail of the item a bit clearer.

Thanks for the help.

Ramon Georges October 13th, 2005 07:08 AM

I just realized that the price for this software has gone down since I purchased it back in Dec 04, when it was $495. Man that really bites. Oh well.

I'll reduce to $150, but no lower. With the retail at $295, that almost 50% off the price. Any takers?

Hey Adam,

Did you ever find a duplicator. I am pricing to build one for myself. Didn't know if your finding one worked out well or not.

Interested, but hmm - the link on BH show the DV 44 kit having the Rifa 44, Tota, Omni and Pro lights. Can you confirm that your kit is different from the one listed on BH? Thanks.

FS: Audio Technica 4053a, 4051a mics

I recently picked up a couple of Schoeps so I need to sell my two Audio Technica hypers. I actually have two AT-4053a hypercardiods that are like new. I've used them very little over the last few months but they were terrific when I did. One of the best investments I have made for sound. They come in the cases with foam windscreens and mic clips. I also have a 4051a capsule that allows the hyper to be swapped for a cardiod to give a little wider pickup. These mics sound great and work really well for interior dialog. They sound very close to the Schoeps to my ears, but the Schoeps are a little quiter. Anyway, I paid around $400 each for them less than 6 months ago and about $180 for the extra cap. Looking for offers.
