FS: Panasonic DVC80

Bought this one about a year and a half ago, shot less than 15 hours - I'm just not using it as much as I'd hoped, and being a student I have other expenses I need to focus on. The camera is great, and in excellent condition. I'm looking for $1800 OBO, I paid $2500 at the time of sale. This is an awesome camera, and I wish I had the time to spend to use it as much as it deserves - hoping it can go to a good home!

FS: Optex 16:9 Anamorphic Adapter

Well, I guess most of you know it. It optically squeezes a 16:9 on a 4:3 ccd.

I'm selling it because I just don't use it too often. Consequently, it's like new.

Any fair price will do, but please read a bit on this forum first. Since some people are extatic about it and others see too much downsides to it. I don't want to get known as a rip-off artist. :-)

But when used as intented, it a very nice lens.

WTB Canon XL-1 or XL-1s

I'd like to get one of these, preferably at a cheap price (well, cheap for an XL-1).

I don't need too many extras, and extra battery maybe, but not all the bells and whistles (at least not yet...).

I have paypal and am verified, this is the method I most like to use because it tends to be pretty safe.

If anyone has one they feel like parting with, please send an e-mail my way.

Brad Mills August 13th, 2005 05:43 PM

I'm in the market for an XL2, email me at 'contact@bradmills.ca' if you're gonna let things go separately.

Giroud Francois August 13th, 2005 06:14 PM

give more info. there are several models (bayonet ou thread mount, and the old one not zoom thru and the new one full zoom thru), plus the mount diameter.
Or better, give the reference number written on the adapter.

I am in the same case, purchased one, never used except for some test.
and now most high end cameras comes with native 16/9

Brad Mills August 13th, 2005 06:18 PM

I'm interested in this camera, I'm in the market for something that's not too expensive but gives me some control over the image. Send me an email in contact@bradmills.ca & include some pics if you have some! Thanks

Steven Gotz August 15th, 2005 02:49 PM

I moved the chairs up closer. I am OK so far, but with a movie that has a lot of fast action, it is a little overwhelming.

I would really like a smaller TV. But I don't think it will be as easy to sell it as to trade it.

Anybody?

Bob Costa August 15th, 2005 05:54 PM

Where in Florida are you going? I have 52" Hitachi.

Also, are you sure that you want to put the TV where you think you do? WHen I bought this house, I ended up with a completely different orientation than the last owners....

Steven Gotz August 15th, 2005 06:02 PM

Moving to the Orlando area.

There were no previous owners. This is a model, with no TV anywhere sensible. A couple of cabinets that could hold a decent sized TV, but not a widescreen.

The longest room in the house besides the Master bedroom is the den, at 14X11.5 feet. The TV is almost 2 feet deep, and the chairs need to be a foot or so from the wall to recline properly. So I get about 11 feet maximum from screen to eyes.

We will probably try it out at the distance for a while, unless I can find someone in Dallas who would like to buy it for the price of a 50" of the same type of TV. Then I can just buy the new one in Florida.

Who knows, I suppose we could get used to it. Our family room looks funny with the chairs puched up to the front and the couch tucked away behind it.

Bob Costa August 15th, 2005 06:18 PM

2 feet deep too much for me. Maybe you can build a little "window box" in the wall of your house, so that the TV sits in it "outside" the main walls and you don't lose any room space. :)
