Psst... Marty, you wanna sell that USB OTG drive seperatly? :)

Dylan Couper June 2nd, 2006 12:56 AM

2 Canon XL1's for sale!

I put these up for sale a while ago, and then moved on with other things and kind of forgot I still had them for sale. On that note...
These two fantastic Canon XL1's can be yours, CHEAP!
Great for impressing girls, wowing family at gatherings, making security guards nervous, and even shooting video!

For sale:

1 Canon XL1/EVF/Mic/full kit with 16x lens
1 Canon XL1/EVF/Mic/full kit with 3x lens

Includes:
4 batteries
Chargers and AC adapters
remote control
shoulder strap
Instruction manual
Probably assorted other stuff, filters, etc...
Hours: around 80-100 each, tops. Probably more like 60 though.

How much? A shockingly cheap $3400us for BOTH.
Fire up that Paypal account and scoop them while they are available!
What, you just want one?
Ok, $1600 for the XL1 with the 16x lens, or $1800 for the XL1 with the 3x lens.
But wait, you want just a Canon XL1 body/viewfinder/mic, without the lens? Ummm... OK, how does $1200 sound? Just want the 3x lens? Not unless I sell a body first, sorry.

Here's the dealie... I want these out of my closet ASAP, so I'm willing to consider all offers or trades (I could use a Canon 20d or a good laptop).
If they aren't gone in a week, it is Ebay time!

Optional: A Canon ZR40 camcorder that I use as a deck to keep playback/log hours off the XL1's.
Optional: 1 Kata rain cover
Optional: 1 PortaBrace quick draw case

Email me for details, but you probably know the rest... buyer pays shipping, Paypal fees, or whatever...

Cheers!

Hey, was reading some mesage boards from other DV sites and a couple of product reviews. Apparently JVC even acknowledges that the Canon-JVC compatabilitiy isn't 100%. I have heard the Panny is fine tho.

Bob, does the DV2000 do DVCAM format? Thanks

(Sorry it's taking so long to pick what I am buying, jsut making sure all my bases are covered).

Marty Hudzik June 2nd, 2006 07:24 AM

Unless I get an offer on the rest of the kit I still need the USB OTG drive for now. I am not using it a lot but if I need to shoot something I always seem to exceed the 22 minutes the 2 P2 cards hold. I may be willing to sell it seperate if someone buys the rest of the HVX200 kit first.

Thanks!

Bob Safay June 2nd, 2006 07:27 AM

Matt, I will have to check the book. I use it with my Canon XL-1s with no problems. Just keep the heads clean. It has a/v in/out, dv in/out to either camcorder or computer, s-video in/out. Also uses either pro or mini tapes. I am not sure exactly what you mean by DVCAM. Please explain. Bob

Matthew Nayman June 2nd, 2006 07:58 AM

DVCAM is a format used by the Panasonic Pd100 Pd 150, and a fewother cams. It is a higher quality format than DV, but records on the same tapes. It uses a higher tape speed to fit more info onto the same medium.

They also make special DVCAM cameras, sometimes called DVCPro

Bob Safay June 2nd, 2006 08:22 AM

I know that the deck takes the DVPRO and DVmini tapes, that is the larger one, and has sp and lp record/playback. I think it is one of the top of the line that Panasonic made. I can check the manuel later today. If you look at the picture of the front that I sent it may say porcam on the front. Bob

I have dropped the price of the Canon 14x to $600.00 OBO Bob

Bob Safay June 2nd, 2006 08:51 AM

Matt, I did a google on "Panasonic dv deck" and yes, the dv-2000 will play/record the DVCAM tapes. That is the dvpro tape, or larger 2 hour tapes. Bob

Mike Meyerson June 2nd, 2006 09:07 AM

as far as I know the dv2000 is a dv deck, not DVCAM. DVCAM is different. YES, you can use the same tapes, but the DVCAM format records at a higher speed. Most decks will play DVCAM, but wont record it. DVCAM and DVCPRO are 2 different formats as well. DVCPRO is the panasonic version, DVCAM is the sony version. They are all not the same. All the info I've seen on the dv2000 says it's a DV deck and will play and record on the small and large size DV tapes. It's the top of the "prosumer" line, but they also make a pro-line and even those don't record DVCAM because it's Sony's format.

If you want the ability to play and record DVCAM, make sure you buy the right deck, like a DSR-11, 20, 25 etc....

Bob Safay June 2nd, 2006 09:19 AM

The front panal of this deck says ag dv-2000 Pro/ Line It is a great deck, but if only Sony decks record in "true" DVCAM then what can I say. This is a Panasonic deck and I am only going by what my google search said. I video and play/record minidv on my Canon XL-1s and use the dv-2000 as a sourse deck. I also have used this deck to make DVPRO master tapes. I thought Matt was interested in useing Canon camcorders?

Matthew Nayman June 2nd, 2006 09:40 AM

I do use an XL2 mostly, but occasionallyu my work calls for other formats. Right now the DSR 11 is looking like a better option, and I found a new one for like $1400 nearby. A new deck seems like it's worth the extra!

Bob Safay June 2nd, 2006 09:47 AM

Go for it.

Mike Meyerson June 2nd, 2006 10:14 AM

I was just trying to tell you that just because you're recording on a DVCAM or DCVPRO tape, doesn't mean you're necessarily recording in that format, just on that tape. If you can find a NEW dsr-11 for $1400 then that's the way to go. It'll give you more flexability. It'll even play/record in PAL. The only thing it doesn't do which once in a blue moon you might run into...it will ONLY play SP tapes...so if someone gives you a tape recorded in LP mode, you'll have to use your camera to digitze.

Marco Leavitt June 2nd, 2006 11:20 AM

Ok, $1600 for the XL1 with the 16x lens, or $1800 for the XL1 with the 3x lens. Hold up, isn't it cheaper to buy both? Yes it is, $200 cheaper! SO why don't you?

ok so if one buys the package of both cameras he actually has to pay $200 more ?

3600 for both or 1600 and 1800 (1600+1800 = 3400)

Ha ha! We love our Dylan, but if you check the time this was posted, 2:56 am you might figure out his problem with math. The scotch had kicked in good and he had probably been up for a long time. :)

I'm sure he will get the price corrected, but if you don't jump on this offer quickly it won't matter! They will be gone!

Mike

Of coarse, I didn't know this when I bought it. Works great on my XL1s, XL1, GL2 and a lot of others but not the XL2 or XLH1!

Here's a link to the VariZoom web site for details of this item:

I paid $189 plus shipping last month from DVinfo.net site sponsor B & H Photo, I'll take $170 to your door. (Can take PayPal payments.)

Tyge,

Call or email me. That controller should work fine with the XL2 lens. I have a Varizoom and it works with my XL2. -gb-

Ok so I can't figure out how to edit the original post so I will do it here.

Price is lowered to $1900 shipped.

I also have a 23" Aluminum Cinema Display that I will sell for $1050. Still has 6 months of warranty left.

Or buy both for $2900.00 shipped.

Please email me for pictures or with offers. Thanks.

Jon Siegrist June 3rd, 2006 02:53 AM

Yeah, thank for the heads up. How do I edit my original post? BTW: Price has been reduced to $1050.00 This one still has 6 months warranty on it.

Tyge Floyd June 3rd, 2006 08:18 AM

Thanks, Greg, but I believe you have the Pro model and not the Stealth. The Pro model does work with the XL2, the Stealth doesn't.

No worries, all's well that ends well, right? :)

Dylan Couper June 3rd, 2006 10:49 AM

LOL! Ohhhh boy... I've got to cut out the late night matches with that bottle of Lagavulin... :)

Price adjusted.
$3400 for both, or $1600/$1800 each. Somewhat negotiable of course.

Canon ZR500 - Brand New

Hey all,

I recently purchased a new Canon ZR500 for my parents, but it is too hard for them to operate - I don't know where I got my technical skills from now :P

Anyway, I figured I should sell it and get them a budget PC as they need that far more than the camcorder. Everything is in its original packaging and is brand new ... nothing has been opened. They only took out the camera, but when they couldn't figure out how to turn it on and when my mother pointed the lens towards her and asked if she was recording what was in front of her, I knew it had to go

I'll sell it for $250. It hasn't been used at all and all the items that come with it are in their original packaging, unopened. And a tape never even touched its recording heads.

Let me know if you're interested.

THanks!
