FS: Micro35 DIY adapter with Canon FD mount and rail system

Moving on to another project, I am selling my 35mm adapter and steel rail system:

Picture of kit

Here is what the kit contains:

1) One 35mm spinning adapter made after the Micro35. It features:
- Adjustable Canon FD lens mount
- DCX (condenser lens)
- Quality macro assembly (achromat) with 72mm ring
- Potentiometer to control motor speed and reduce power consumption
- Materials: ABS tubing and aluminum
- Works on two AA batteries inside the unit

2) Rod support system
- Aluminum/stainless steel
- 13” long stainless steel rods (tubes, actually)
- Two 1/8” aluminum shims
- 1/4-20 hole and thumbscrew for tripod mounting

3) Five optical acrylic, laser-cut GG discs + Redrock M1 GG
- Three sandblasted discs with different degrees of diffusion
- Two “virgin” discs for you to sand or grind to your taste
- Disc Thickness: 1mm and 1.5mm

I am also including a 50mm Canon FL F/1.4 lens, with front and rear caps. This lens, however, has issues: the diaphragm (iris) is not working and there is an anomaly (circle) in the glass towards the back. The glass anomaly has no visible effect on performance. Still, this lens, being an FL, is pretty sharp and will work very well indoors.

All you need to start using the adapter is an adapter ring to 72mm and, maybe, extra shims to bring your camcorder to the desired height.

More pics:

Adapter on rails 2
Adapter with Panasonic GS400

And, clips:

PS: I could have zoomed in a bit more in the last clip...

I am asking $340 + UPS shipping. If you are interested, please email me at poet at videotron.ca.

I've been tossing around the idea of an HC1 myself. You can import one from Japan for right at $1000 but I've yet to find out if they have the option of English menus (not that its a major concern).

Brian Vilevac March 3rd, 2006 06:40 AM

Sold!

Thank you everyone for your interest in the camera and accessories. It has been sold!

Thanks again..

well suggestion, don't wait too long now that they're discontinued the stock is about to drop steadily and compared to it's replacement, it actually outpixels the HC3 that's due to replace it. Right around 1300 for a new one at the major retailers, 1500 at Best Buy and Circuit City, I don't do the gray market stuff so I can't tell you if your idea would work, always a risk. Good luck, I know that from what I've been told, this is a great little camera to play with. ML

GL-1 and mini35 for sale

Yeah I'm selling all my gear.

I have a GL-1 in good condition with a mini35 adapter (the metal tubing static version I'll post pics tonight). This also includes my azden SGM1x shotgun mic, beachtek xlr adapter, and all the stock parts (except AC adapter). I also have a lowepro bag for it that I'm thinking about throwing in, and possibly a couple boxes of Sony Premium tapes.

I'm thinking around 1200.00, make me an offer.

Fred

Have you pix and a few more details regarding the missing components?

Since this is incomplete, perhaps an expectation of price would give an idea of condition.

Much thanks - Jimmy.

WTB: Small MiniDV camera

Hi,

I'm looking for a small form factor camera. I'm looking primarily for something with some sort of night mode function, a decent widescreen mode (or real one such as the Optura 30's), and a mic input. I'm open to offers.

Best,

mg
