Hi Daniel, that price I quoted was from the Sony site. The videoguys site is confusing to me actually. They have about 3 different prices. On that page they say as low as $399.95 after rebate. The under that they say $449 with 1 rebate, and under that, one of the other rebates (I assume other) has expired. Then when you click on 'add to cart' it's $499 including their training DVD's. Elsewhere on their site I saw about $550 (http://www.videoguys.com/realtime.htm)

Seems though that $499 would be the price with their extras, so obviously I'd be looking for less than that.

For Vegas as such, you don't need any special hardware, it's a softare NLE. Of course, the gruntier machine you have, the better.

Anyone selling an XL2 body?
thanks

Todd Kivimaki February 11th, 2006 12:32 PM

Anyone have anything?

Jon Wivell February 11th, 2006 01:22 PM

Any reason you don't want the lense?

Todd Kivimaki February 11th, 2006 02:13 PM

I would like to post that I received the zoom controllers and am very pleased with them. Ian even shipped them in the original boxes and packaging. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Ian in the future

Drew Cusick February 11th, 2006 02:56 PM

I am interested in the lense, would you be willing to sell just it?

Either way, im interested in it.

-Drew Cusick

FS: DVLine Custom Editing Computer W/Sony Vegas+DVD

Here, friends, is a heck of a deal on a rock-solid, dedicated editing box. This was put together by Ken Bell and his crew at DV Line, so you know it's quality, and you know it works. No amped-up Wal-Mart cheapie, this. To the specs:

Full-tower Antec alloy case w/550-watt power supply, charcoal color
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz frontside bus, hyperthreading
1 Gig PC3200 DDRAM
Asus P4C800-E-DX Motherboard
Windows XP Pro
Asus GeForce FX 5200 video card w/128 megs RAM
120GB WD system drive
400GB WD Storage (2 200GB Drives, RAID 0-striped)
Sony DVD-R/RW +R/RW Drive
DVD ROM
Pyro Firewire Card
Floppy
Logitech Keyboard/Optical Cordless Mouse
Vegas 4+DVD
System Rebuild DVD
Sealed Copy Windows XP Pro
Copy Vegas 4+DVD
All Documentation

Doubtless the computer cuckoos among you will notice the specs aren't quite cutting-edge. Which is because this box is 2 years old. Still, it's a pretty formidable package, in absolutely new condition. And I need to sell it. So---

Original Cost: $2642. Used for a couple of short projects, and essentially sitting ever since. I'd like to get $1500 plus shipping. Paypal preferred. Those of you who've bought stuff from me can confirm I describe things accurately, deal honestly, and ship quickly. If you've got an offer somewhere in the general vicinity of my asking, email me at aatkinson@wwlp.com and/or patatkinsonsi@att.net. Second email address is your better bet until Monday, by the way.

I think this is a genuine deal, kids, even considering 2 years of faster-cheaper in the Windows editing world. Thanks!

Al

FS: PV-DV953 w/.5X Wide Angle Lens PLUS

For sale, my PV-DV953 3CCD camcorder with all accessories (wired and wireless remote, battery charger/AC supply, shoulder strap, 16 MB SD card, USB cable) plus a PRO-5050 .5X wide angle lens, an extra battery, and several 43mm filters. This unit has recently been fixed by the Panasonic Service Center to correct a bad prism/CCD block and is in perfect working condition. It has a few minor blemishes on the body which do not affect operation.

The DV953 has OIS, frame mode, 3.5" LCD screen, widescreen, still pictures in 3 Mpxl max, will take stills to SD card in 4:3 or to the tape in 4:3 or 16:9. It does not record stills while shooting video. It comes with a 16 MB SD card. The DV953 has 12 Mbps USB for transferring stills to the computer and comes with a CD that contains the USB drivers and other software.

I am asking $700 which includes shipping in the continental US. I prefer PayPal but will accept cashiers check or money order. For more information, post here or contact me via email or PM.

Mathieu Ghekiere February 11th, 2006 05:19 PM

Can I ask out of curiousity why you absolutely need the GL1 and not any other possible camera?

(ps, good luck with the search!)

I like canon and cant afford the Xl series, and the gl style is good.

and thanks, I really hope i can get one

Chris Hurd February 11th, 2006 05:55 PM

If it must be a GL1 (discontinued by Canon years ago), then Ebay is your best bet. They rarely come up here anymore.

Bill Taka February 11th, 2006 07:30 PM

I was kind of surprised that nobody has inquired on buying this so I went to ebay and found lower prices. So here's my final offer before I go to ebay. I am now selling this for $2,500 plus $60 shipping (ups ground). I also want to add that all the accessories including the battery and lens hood have never been used. Everything is in the original box including manual and warranty. The only sign of this not being new is where the viewfinder assembly attaches to the body - after about 3 connections (it always shows wear on any XL Ive ever owned)

As I mentioned, I purchased this on 9/1/05 then, 2 weeks later, I found out the XL H1 was coming out so it has very little use. I said 12 times (meaning about 12 hours). Please only serious inquires who know about an XL2. I will discontinue this offer on 2/14/06

Travis Andersen February 11th, 2006 08:26 PM

Sent you an email.

Brian J. Harris February 11th, 2006 08:41 PM

Travis Andersen February 11th, 2006 08:53 PM

It stands for eye view finder.

Bill Taka February 11th, 2006 08:59 PM

Sorry guys I had to put in a new email. The previous email was incorrect. Please send again. My apologies !

Adam Rench February 11th, 2006 09:07 PM

Hey all,

OK. I'll sell the XL2 which is in the described above condition without the case but with the extra battery and the two filter set for $3400.

Australia - Got an XL to sell?

I'm looking for any of the XL series to kick start my Video business. I live in Sydney and its really hard to find people nearby who have 2ndhand cams.

Anyway.... Worth a shot to ask before I head off in the Trading post and online classifieds. So, who's got an old XL1 and XL1s or prefferably an XL2 to sell within australia?

Leo Pepingco February 11th, 2006 10:35 PM

Very interested.... hope you got my e-mail.

But I live in Sydney Australia, and I hope this is not a problem.

WANTED:second-hand FX1E or DVX100E

I need PAL version second hand or cheap of either dvx or fx1e! Can anyone help me or point to the right direction.

Dennis Wood February 12th, 2006 10:22 AM

These were requested by an HVX user. They are stills captured from the GS400 with the adapter attached at 2278x1728 (resized for web)

GS400 still shot 1, adapter attached.
GS400 still shot 2, adapter attached.

Note that with the 50mm f1.4 at this range, the DOF is extremely shallow...only about an inch.

Matthew Nayman February 12th, 2006 12:25 PM

Still interested in the EVF!
