Nikon Lens

I have a panasonic dvc80 which is arguably better than the vx2100 that i would be interested in discussing for a trade. It has probably less than 10 hours on it. I used it for a shoot for a local fire department and now have a fullsize rig that i use for work. This is almost the same as a dvx100 sans 24p and cinegamma. Please email me if interested at marstaton4@hotmail.com as i don't check my pm's very often.

Thanks
Marshall

People are weary of sellers with just 1 or 2 posts... you better hang around here for a while before trying again.

Just a suggestion, of course. :)

Patrick Moreau January 26th, 2006 11:02 PM

Ash, just hoping I would hear back about my offer if you would ship to Canada.

Bryan Mitchell January 27th, 2006 02:20 AM

What is your preferred method of payment?

Craig Bellaire January 27th, 2006 04:29 AM

Going to E-bay...

I'm not sure why when someone says to "please don't ask to go lower then what is posted... 12 people did"... So I do believe after that, with the e-mails I recieved from Ash he has gone/going to e-bay with this item...

thanks guys

Patrick Moreau January 27th, 2006 08:19 AM

Am I missing something, I thought this was Ash's ad? Shouldn't the seller be the one to close the ad or state the item is no longer for sale here?

Regardless Criag, I offered Ash is asking price, I just asked if he would consider shipping to Canada by the most affordable method possible as he originally wanted to ship within the US. He was interested and asked for my shipping info to check rates a couple days ago, but I haven't heard back since.

Craig Bellaire January 27th, 2006 08:35 AM

Regardless Patrick

I also offered the asking price but was told about e-bay.. that's why I replied here... Anyway best of luck to all who wanted this nice little item...

Mark Bournes January 27th, 2006 08:52 AM

good price

Grab that while you can. That's a great package deal.

Andres Bant January 27th, 2006 09:34 AM

final bump, would sell the whole package for around $1600

Chris J Davie January 27th, 2006 11:24 AM

David Carter January 27th, 2006 11:34 AM

Dave,
Thanks for the heads up. I am new to the forum, in that I am only trying to sell my equipment; er go only a couple of posts. (Wish I had discovered this forum sooner! Great place for info!) I can understand the concern of others on the forum of people with few posts.

Bryan, I would prefer a either a certified check or money order. I do not have a PayPal account set up at the moment. If you are interested, please send me an email.

Thanks for the replies.

WTB Wide angle for GL2

Looking for a wide angle lens for the GL2, the Canon WD-58 would be fine, or anything equivalent. Probably .65 is the widest I would want. Reply here or email me at todd@videomemoriesinc.com . Please send pictures (if you have them) and price.

Optex wide angle lens & extras for PD170s, VX2100 etc...

$400 obo
OpTex .65x Wide Angle Converter with Bayonet Mount, B+W 82mm UV Haze Filter & Kenko RHC-85 Lens Hood

These items are 6 months old and in perfect condition. No scratches no marks. You will not find a new or used one in better condition.

OpTex .65x Wide Angle Converter with Bayonet Mount
* Increase your camcorder’s coverage by 35%.
* The .65x Wide Angle Converter is equipped with a bayonet mount for use on any of the 58mm Sony cameras, like the VX2100, PD170, VX2000, PD150, and DSR250.
* Bayonet mount gives you the convenience of handling afforded by the bayonet fitting and eliminates the chance of damaging the lens filter thread.
* Offers exceptional optical performance. Changes the focal length by a factor of about .65x. Used on the Sony PD150 camcorder, the zoom range of 6-72mm changes to 3.9-46.8mm.
* Zoom-through

B+W 82mm UV Haze Filter
Haze(UV) filters are wise initial investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired they can be left on the lens at all times for protection. Haze filters provide additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet(UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.

UV-Haze filters are helpful when photographing mountain and marine scenes, where increased haze threatens to make your photographs indistinct in color and clarity.
B&W slim filters are for wide-angle lenses and are 3mm thick. They do not have a front thread. Multi-coated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Hello Dave,
I have discovered that price and performance is nearly never linear.
Will a car drive at double top speed if you pay the double? Usually not.
To me the Sony Z1 was never considered at all. I appreciate changable lens, longer telephoto and 25F. And of course the better ergonomics by a shoulder camera if you like to get steady shots. My

Hello Dave,
I have discovered that price and performance is nearly never linear.
Will a car have double top speed if you pay the double? Usually not.
To me the Sony Z1 was never considered at all. I demanded changable lens, appreciated longer telephoto, liked separated rubber hinged microphone and 25F among other features. And of course the better ergonomics by a shoulder camera if you like to take steady shots. My choice was between Canon and JVC and I am glad I waited for the Canon.

But if you go to the lumber yard you could make a great deal. A log piece with double thickness will cost you less than the double price and be able to carry four times load (if I remember right) compared to the cheaper one! There you could make a great deal by paying the double.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist to answer this. It is like comparing apples and oranges, which one suits you best? Both cameras are following the 1080i HDV-2 standard so likely the picture quality shouldn't differ extremely much.
By buying the Canon you will get a much more bulky camera. So if you like to take it with you on a mountineering walk you nearly cannot carry both the H1 and your hiking stuff (I will try this anyway). You will need a backpacker for the video alone. So here the Sony shines and will be much more easy.

Decide yourself! I suggest you write a list what is important (zoom lens, battery time, ergonomics, viewfinder, resolution etc and give it points (1-10) for each camera. Then multiply with an importance (1-10) factor (which is same for all cameras for you). Add and you can easily compare which one you should buy, good luck!

Example:

Picture quality: Canon = 8 x picture quality importance = 7 => 56.

Price: Canon = 3 x low price importance =4 => 12
Total is 68 for Canon.
...

And do so on for both cameras. This method is very usuable for many descisions like selecting house, buying car etc.

Who, if you don't mind asking, did you end up selling this to?
Someone from HERE or from someplace elsewhere?

I'm asking because I feel that I'm going to find myself in a similar situation awfully soon.

Cheers. Thanks!

FS: Canopus ADVC 300 A/D Converter

I'm selling my Canopus ADVC 300 Advanced Digital Video converter. You can see the specs here:

http://www.canopus.com/products/ADVC300/index.php

I've had this unit about 4 months (purchased from VideoGuys.com), but haven't used it much. I used it as a A/D converter and captured 3 VHS tapes. I also used it as a way to view video on my production monitor. It is in perfect condition. I have the original box and all the accessories that came with it. (I can take pictures if anyone is interested)

I'm selling it because I bit the bullet and purchased a DSR-11 (love it). I now use it as my A/D converter and external monitor video device.

Price is $400 shipped. I will accept PayPal, Money Order or Cashiers Check.

Email me at sheila (at) stormimagery.com if interested.

Thanks!

Looking for a couple starter tripods

Hey all,

I need a couple starter level fluid head tripods. Posting this to see if anyone has anything that they aren't using. I'm on a fairly tight budget for these, but I realize you get what you pay for. If you have a head, tripod, or set you aren't using. Then let me know what you would take for them. I have 2 dvc30's so I don't need a big head, a used bogen 701rc2 type head would be ideal for my needs. I can get a new 701rc2/3011 combo from b&h for $204 + shipping. To save you all time, I most likely wouldn't be interested in anything that cost more than that.

Also, please don't flood my email with these. I'm sure a lot of people have an old tripod they don't use and I don't want to read 35 emails about this. Please list the brand/model and your price in this thread.

Thanks,
Brandon
