Smith Victor Softbox Lights
Hello
I have a small shoot coming up i a few months a one woman show i have to get some more lighting the budget is very small what your opinon on S/V softbox lighting sys. i'm looking at some with a price tag of about $300/450 a piece the shoot is going to be on a small stage with differ/back grounds any ideas would help thank you Joe |
I bought 2 of them - they work fine but are NOT well-made. I do a lot of running around, and they kind of just came apart in my case. If you were to buy them and leave them set up in a studio, they may work out for you.

Can you explain exactly what you are shooting, the size of the area, the movement of the person, the angles you have to shoot from?
Are you shooting a live show on a stage with an audience? Are you in a small studio with a set? |
Hello Jack
I'm shooting a older woman who will Just talk and sing. No audience she only wants front shots of herself no angles shots Its a small hall with stage size of 10'x 15' |
Aren't there any lights in the hall? Even if there are just two or three open face theatrical lights you could buy a roll of white diffusion gel and a pack of clothespins to soften them.
You said your budget was very limited and this could save you hundreds :) |
