Firestore Import into FCP
 

I am shooting on the FS100 and I have shot some footage before I have recieved my MAC. I basically coppied the files to and external hard drive to access them when I needed them. I organized P2 but I did not copy the lastclip.txt file with my first 2 shoots. Is this footage lost foreever or can I recreate this file and trick the computer.

Thank God it is not the most important footage!

If you've deleted those files from the Firestore then yes, those clips are rendered useless. That .txt file has code needed for the entire MXF data chain to be complete and readable/usable. I'm not sure the exact data that is listed in the file, but from Barry Wan Kenobi could most likely tell you.

Even though it is bad news!

I now copy all the files except the empty logs to my hard drive. The good news is that I can use raymaker or that other program to save the footage. I looked at the lastclip file from firestore and it seems easy enough, I will have to wai to see if it works.

Does anyone know if they can replicate the file?
