Result: 625Hx600V progressive

I compensated for some factors, like for instance a chart not filling the screen properly.

The Panasonic appears to have CCD's that employ both vertical and horizontal pixel shift.

Martin provided a total of 4 frame grabs from the Kaku's tests. I derived the numbers by checking all 4 charts.

Sorry, the guy must have disabled it. It is from Kaku's clips. Everyone has seen in it 600Hx600V; I saw 625Hx600V. The Kaku's clips, with various sharpness settings, should be available somewhere.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this not great res for 1080
maybe I amm not understanding Pixel shift correctly -
and just have to see it, but if it is only recording 600,
what ever you do to is isn't gonna be that great..
Does this even fall into the realm of Real HD

Yeah, I thought you meant that with your post, but just a pretty weird way of letting it now :-)
Just wanted to know for sure I was understanding it right.

But if it is correct, indeed it's a pretty big dissapointment for many people I think.

Which brings ups the question:

What's the minimum rez to benefit from HD 720 and 1080?

If so, Why can't you change the file titles? Since you made the frame grabs of Kaku's clips, I assume you uploaded them which gives you control of the file names.

The reason is, how can anyone know what there looking at you have directed them too. One shot could be no sharpness and the very next one could be Normal. However how would anyone know when the label doesn't tell them.

We need to try to keep things as clear as possible around here, since it does a disservice to all the tests that are being conducted, and add's frustration to new people coming here to see what's up with these new HD cameras and they can't tell what images there looking at. Your labels don't even say what camera. The way links are passed around these days they can end up anywhere...

For example. You can title them like this: HVX200/0-dtl/1080p24 or HVX200/-5 dtl/1080p24

In this case it tells the viewer that it's a HVX200 at 0 detail at 1080p at 24 fps. Or the second one it says all the same but now a -5 detail.

Yeah, I can't help being distracted by the edge enhancement on the charts. It seems a bit too thick.

I have received five video files of res charts shot by Kaku Ito in different camera modes (in total over 700 MB). I've made one frame grab of each of the five videos and gave them exactly the same filenames as the videos had. At the time I did this a few days ago there was no further information available which camera setups Kaku used for the five shots.
I have now looked again at Kaku's Homepage but still all he says is "More details to be written later". As soon as I know more, I'll update the filenames to reflect the camera setup used.
