balloon explosion with HVX+M2
I need a high speed cam for a upcoming project, but the budget is low and dont think we can rent a real speed cam, so I made some tests with HVX to get to know how slow its possible to got with HVX and still remain natural. Here is a link: www.fff.ee/balloon
I somehow messed up the order of clips, but you'll get the idea. Originally it was shot 50fps(50hz camera) with 60degree shutter, later interpolated in AE |
not bad at all for something shot at 60fps originally,
did you slowed the footage down in AE only? e. |
I have never had so much fun watching a balloon pop! This was just what I needed to see to sell me on this camera
|
Great footage. Nice job!

yes, i used only time strech and pixel motion settings in AE for slow down. I also tried to copy each frame to make it twice slower, but results weren't that good.
I wish I had 60hz camera, so i could shoot 60fps, not 50fps. I was also thinking, what if, you put two HVX's right next to each other(with same settings etc) and zoom all the we in on balloon. Then turn first one on and then second one. So you basically get 100fps footage with slightly different angle. I would try it if i could get another HVX from somewhere. Has anybody done it before? |
NICE! I gotta try this at 60fps. Great job, truly a good test to show the abilities of the camera.
