GH4 Wi Fi
 

The GH4 Wi Fi feature is awesome. My wish is that it have more range. I have a nature project in which I would like to mount a GH4 on a remotely controlled car. Any ideas as to how I might extend the Wi Fi range to 100' or more?

There is a wifi extender avaialable but I can't tell you the name of it or provide any info. I heard about it on NPR last Christmas and didn't get the details. It was not expensive.

How far does the WiFi work now? Is there much delay? What frame rate? Will there be a conflict between the WiFi signal and the 2.4GHz Rx on the RC?

The Wi Fi now works at 25' or so without the robot. There does not seem to be any interference from the RC device. Very little if any delay and the GH4 seems to work in all modes. Other than the extremely short range the remote is great. Yes, it does record in 4K remotely.
This would be a great set up if there was a way to extend the range.

Can you stop recording over Wifi? On the GH3 you could not. Did they fix that?

They did fix the video stop feature. From my limited time with the Wi Fi I believe it allows the same features as with camera hands on.

There has got to be a way to increase the range!!
