Just upgraded from the hc 2000 looking for tips n tricks
Also is there a way to repower up quickly after it goes to sleep as on the 2000 just had to open the view finder also best 118 batterys and a lot more questions to come

I don't know about this model specifically, but usually pressing one of the buttons on a device (even the record button) is sufficient to wake up the device from its sleep mode. My experience of this comes mainly from a stills camera.
