Dvx 100 + m2 bundle - Do I need a lense?

HEy folks,

I just got the M2 bundle but my question is do I still need to buy a seperate lense???

THis is what i ordered:

M2 Indie Bundle for Nikon Lenses 1 Indie Bundle for Nikon SLR lenses M2 Cinema Lens Adapter M2 Achromatic lens 15mm Rod Support System Your Nikon SLR lens mount M2 Cinematographer's cap

I got the DVX 100 stock - so Im just wondering If I need an extra lense to go with it or that's optional? Also if I want to shoot 16:9 do i need an extra lense of I can use the 16:9 fonction on the cam?

Sorry if these questions are silly but I just wanted to get your feedback,

My best,
Joey

Thanks Leigh,

Ahh what would be a good wide lense? Do you or anyone have any recommendation on a good lense? I want a nice wide lense - what other lense would be good or you find good with this cam?

My best,
Joey

The DVX100 really needs both a tele and a wide converter in my view. The 45 mm telephoto is just too short to offer you much in the way of dof control, and the wide end - though 'nice', just isn't really wide enough to add excitement.

Panasonic do sell an anamorphic lens for this model, but it's expensive (as it should be). It may well be worth trying out the camera's internal wide-screen modes before you take the plunge.

I have a Bolex Aspheron 0.5x for the DVX and it woorks well on the VX2100, the FX1 and Z1, too. Best thing about it is the lack of barrel distortion, but they're hard to find. Have a look at the Raynox and Century sites and decide if you really need a full zoom-through.

tom.
