Head cleaning, authorized service centers.
Hi to everyone, i have just received my slightly used dvx100 camera. After 60 hours of use i feel it is time for head cleaning.
I live in North Carolina and was wondering for any in state locations where i could get professional cleaning. The goal behind this is to make a switch from wet lube Sony tapes to dry Panasonic mq tapes. I have been recommended professional cleaning for this purpose. Any replies would be greatly apreciated. |
Dmitri,
I have moved your inquiry here, as I think you'll get more response concerning DVX100 service. Call me carefree, but I'd be inclined to run a cleaning tape through the cam and just move forward with the MQ's, particularly since your camera has relatively low-mileage. The worst that will happen is that you may eventually need a professional cleaning...which you'll eventually need anyway. BTW, I believe that all DV tapes have been using dry lubrications since the late 1990's. So the "wet-lube" issue is largely folklore. |
Hey guys the link to all the authorized service centers is here
http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/WhereT...cer.asp?pass=1 Seems like there are only two. Ken thanks for the reply but i doubt i will have the guts to run the cleaning tape through my cam. I am now looking for any place professional enough to do this cleaning. Any contributions would be gladly apreciated. |
Suit yourself Dmitri. But cleaning tapes are perfectly safe and quite beneficial when used as directed. Panasonic even includes one with each DVX100.
