What is the difference between video captured between frame and interlaced mode? Is frame mode better in taking video shot?

"Normal" is interlaced. That's how it comes out on your TV. The video is captured (and played back) in fields, odd field, even field, odd etc---50 fields per second. Fields are 1/2 frames. Progressive (frame mode) captures an odd and even field at the same time as 1 full frame---25 frames per second. When you capture in progressive, and upload to your computer via firewire, in info remains intact as frames. However, when you play it back via AV or S-video out, the cam splits up the frames as fields. But since the footage was captured in frames and not fields, frame mode will look a bit choppy if there's movement in the video. Your answer: both modes capture great video, you just have to experiment and then decide which mode is appropiate for what. Personally, I use both, but for different things.

As I read from different sources, such as magazine and website, saying that progressive is much better interlaced in DVD replay on TV, that is why I wonder if frame mode (progressive?) is better.

What if a captioned video is burned onto a DVD and play back on a normal TV? Is frame mode better as I know most movies are recorded in progressive mode?

If you want to play back on a TV, just shoot interlaced (normal), not progressive. This will give you "smooth" playback because TV plays back in fields. But as I wrote above, see which mode you like better. Experiment. True HD TV is different, though. And I think Europe is doing the PAL/SECAM wide screen thing.
