Very nice photos - Leigh. The GS400 does very well in closeups. Also on video I've noticed. Here's 2 links I googled about testing if interested

OK, awesome pictures, but how does the video look, especially in comparison to other video cameras?

I don't really have a problem with the 1.6x multiplier as I have a 17-85mm lens which is the equivalent of 27-136mm in 35mm FOV. Besides, I have three young children that won't wait on an affordable 1DS or the slow refresh times of camcorder stills. The 5fps of the 20D can almost keep up with my 3 year old daughter (almost). |

It looks like the GS400 does better with closeup shots compared to your earlier pics.

May I ask the reason? TIA Leigh |
Leigh, maybe someone else has the answers. I've noticed on many cams that landscape shots are noisier than close-ups. What time of day was your house photo?
|
It is around 7pm last night and distance of the house to the camera is around 1km I guess.

Nice. The black background enhances the artistic look. Or is it on the border of becoming artifical? Maybe that's just me - because I've seen what 3D programs like Blender, Maya and Lightwave can do. Here are a few small clips from my GS400 http://64.170.153.245 |
Hi Claus,
Thanks I found shoot in dark using flash which make black background. But the trouble is there is so many insect hide in darkness to bite me. 8 ( Regards Leigh |

Great shot, its amazing how close the GS400 can get for macro shots. The GS100 and DV953 also handled macro shots reasonably well but the pics weren't quite this good.

Very nice pictures Leigh. I'm getting the GS400 this week and your shots have inspired me to try the stills where I think I would have ignored it all together had I not seen this thread.
Keep them coming :) |
