PV-DV953 twixtor'd to 24p AMAZING

DOWNLOAD the "FireDV" AVI which is a fullscreen DV file. It's approx. 9.8 megs.

This footage was taken in anamorphic 16:9 and frame mode. It was captured using Vegas, which automatically intrepretated the footage as progressive. I then rendered an uncompressed DV from vegas using the widescreen pixel ratio and progressive fields. In after effects I MANUALLY interpreted the footage as progressive, and then dropped the video in a 23.976 comp. I used twixtor to tween the frames from 29.97 progressive to 23.976 progressive using the twixtor settings of "nearest" instead of the default "blend" and motion blur of 0, instead of the default 50. The results are quite amazing. I can not see any noticeable resolution loss to the video on a TV or Computer screen. A plus to using this method is that the render times a quite improved since it is not de-interlaceing and is not "blending"

Well Riley could do a longer clip if he rendered the DV out to a WMV file. A 1 Mbps 872x480 WMV file would probably look as good. There are several of those in the same album on my website, including a cinemascope aspect shot in DV widescreen and frame mode, then rendered out to WMV HD using Vegas. An alternative might be a MOV file using the latest codecs.

BTW, Riley, you can start your own nested album in the Member's Album if you want. Just open up the Member's Album and create a new album then add your pix and videos there.
