Kodak Ektanar Wide-Angle Lens
|
Very nice, Young. Great color.
Hey, in your cruising around out there, if you run into the opportunity to buy the Ambico Video V3100 Wide Angle and 1.5X telephoto lens set, get it. This is a two lens set that comes with a snap case. The lenses are 46mm/52mm (WA) and 49mm (tele) thread but you can easily fit them to the MX5000 with a step up ring. I found a set new at a pawn shop for $75. The wide angle is .5x and is full zoom through. It has replaced my Ektanar as my standard lens. The 1.5x vignettes at full wide but that goes away at about 2x. |
Thanks for the info. Do you think the wide-angle adapter you bought is as good as Raynox 5500?
|
Which one is the HD5500? (37mm threads or 43mm?)
|
43mm for my MX5000. :)

Young,
I can't say since I don't have the Raynox to compare the Ambico or Kodak to. I have to say, I'm satisfied with the quality of the video I shoot with the Ambico. It also seems to have less barrel distortion than the Kodak, but that is just subjective since I haven't measured it. It is also full zoom through. Also, I just purchased an Ambico hemispheric lens on E-bay. I should get this in a week or so. This is a single element lens that should give me extreme fisheye (~180 degrees). I'll post some pix after I get a chance to use it. |
