MX350 verses XM2
Being a sinner I visit various cam forums from time to time, and I came across a good one yesterday. It was about 2 poker cams: the MX350 verses the XM2. The person who posted was asking if the XM2 was better, because it was newer, and if it is better in low light. I replied, "The XM2 may require a bit less light but I would just hang on to the MX350 if I were you." What do you think, Yow? Did I say good?

As of all things, COST must be part of the equation.
Sure, the XM2 is better in all, but here, it's $4500 vs $3500 (Singapore dollars) when both were avaialble*. $1000 can get me plenty of other stuff, for a little less zoom, and a little less sensitivity. However, the XM2 does have some nice controls. * The 350 has EOLed since the arrival of the MX500, and the during the overlap period, the MX500 was $2800 and the MX350 was $3500. I bought the MX350 instead of the MX500 because I had a VERY special price of $2800. Now the MX500 is about $2000. Given $2000 for MX500 vs $3500 for MX350 and $4500 for XM2, I'll take the MX500 anytime! |
Yes, you're right. Cost is an important factor, or at least it is for me as well. The cost thing, however, never came up in his post other than a price ceiling. I'm not up with British Pounds nor their strange prices. Heck, if you buy a cam in the UK, you pay big for DV-in, AV-in and S-video in, or so I am told. Poor bast_rds. :-((
