Oh, OK, I understand now. Yes, you can record black to a tape from one camera and use it in another. The time code is irrelevant because when you rerecord over it, the new time code will record. If the tape has been striped, then it will let you record continuous time code even if you power down or remove the tape and put it back. However, that is an unnecessary waste of time and wear and tear on the camera and tape. All you have to do is to make sure you record a few seconds of rundown at the end of your last take. Then when you take the tape or check takes, just make sure you wind to that recorded space at the end of your take, and the camera will pick up the time code where it left off.
