viewing/editing HD footage
I looked around and didnt see anything about this, so here is the deal...
Recently a friend of mine gave me a cd with some footage on it. It was shot with his FX1 and captured by a mac. I use a PC with premiere pro2 to do my editing. I added .mov to the file names so that I could import them into premiere. I have the latest version of quicktime(7.1) and when I open the files with quicktime or premiere, I only get audio. I'm wondering what else I need to do so I can get them to play. I feel like I need some sort of video codec, but I dont know. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |
If he captured using iMovie or Final Cut Pro, you would need the Apple HDV codec.
Problem is, Apple hasn't released that codec for Quicktime for Windows. Since there is no iMovie or FCP on Windows, there's no real need for it (except for file interchange like yourself). |
Thanks Nate,
Hopefully I can just have him convert them to SD and send them again. |
