Atomos Power supply
The plastic clip that prongs are attached to broke. I have few choices:
Super glue it, Buy a new adapter, or a generic power adapter [edit] ended up gluing it. which worked problem solved. |
Re: Atomos Power supply
I would glue the one I have and also get a good universal one for a spare. I always over rate the when I get a universal power supply.
If I need a 12v 1A(amp)(1000ma), I would get one that could do 12v 2A(amp)(2000am). I will have good head room and also will not have to worry about it not working. A device that needs 1a(amp) will only take what it needs. I have always done this and have been told this as well by 2 very good friends who have been in the tv repair business for years. |
Re: Atomos Power supply
Good advice.
This incident caused me to learn a few things about the power supply. It's not necessary to detach the prong clip to fit the adapter in the storage case it comes with if you position it in a certain way. The barrel end on my adapter has no locking mechanisms but the power supplies they now sell have a nut and the monitor does has threads so if I ever did needed to buy their adapter I would order this updated one. |
