Is there a 24P in PAL?
My question is, what do the people in PAL world do to get the 24P video. Are there any minidv cams like AG-DVX100A (at that price) that can capture true 24P in PAL.
Can we use AG-DVX100A in PAL world also? Just curious to know. Thanks, |
No, 25p is as good as 24p.

The human eye cannot discern the difference between 24 and 25 frames per second. In PAL land, for transfer to film (converting 25p into 24p), it's a very simple process of dropping one frame per second and stretching the audio 4% to compensate. Hope this helps,

Going from 24P to 25P is much more fun. Everybody sounds ever so slightly more like chipmunks!

Thansk for the replies. Are there any PAL camcorders in $4K range that can do the true 25P other than recording 50i and converting to 25P, Like the panasonic DVX100. True progressive seems to have lot more picture quality than interlaced video.

The JVC Gr-PD1 is the only other one. Be warned though, it's Mpeg 2 and a 1 chipper, so you may not want the hastle. It does, however, do true 16:9.

Nevermind, I saw there is a PAL version of the DVX100 which is DVX100E. Thanks,
