Photoshop safe areas template
 

Anyone ever seen a photoshop template for creating dvd backgrounds, with the safe areas outlined? I suppose for widescreen and other formats?

I have attached two NTSC Photoshop templates to this post. One for standard 4:3 aspect ratio, and one for 16:9. Both have title safe and action safe guides.

These templates use square pixels and should be compatible with any version of Photoshop. Note that Photoshop CS and above can create NTSC templates using DV/DVD rectangular-type pixels, and these templates include safe guides. Simply open Photoshop and choose File > New, and select your required template from the drop-down list.

EDIT: I have now attached PAL standard and widescreen templates, as well as HD 720 and 1080 versions. May as well do them all while I'm at it!

EDIT 2: Whoops, the HD 1080 template is over the 100 KB limit. Will have to figure out another way to post it.

These templates ARE INCLUDED in Photoshop - just go to File > New and under Presets select the one you need (at least this is the way it works in PS 8.0). They have both the title safe and action safe areas marked.

Yes, that is true in Photoshop CS (v8.0) and above, as I indicated in my previous post. Photoshop 7 can create templates as well, though without the title safe/action safe areas. That is why I created these templates.
